Coincidence? I think not...

February 18th, is the Chinese New Year. Nian gao will be enjoyed by millions. But, tonight also marks the finale of Reba, that wonderfully hilarious series of down home comedy and high-jinxs that makes me wistful and introspective and, yet, deeply moved and happy. I am glad that it is on reruns, but the show is over.

Is it Chinese influence that caused the demise of this series? Is our culture in danger of being taken over by the juggernaut of Mao's progeny? I realize that we are not talking about the people that built the freakin' railroad here, but is the world of Blade Runner upon us?
