Some of the best Nuggets
Those of you that know me know that I love old music. The Nuggets compilation, assembled by Electra Records founder Jac Holzman and Lenny Kaye (of Patti Smith Group fame), has all sorts of great one-hit garage band classics, American and British, from the sixties. Thankfully for us, the internet now has many of these bands and their performances for us to enjoy.
Here are some of my favs, some on the Nuggets albums and some not:
the Electric Prunes
the Count Five
the Monks (really cool!)
the Seeds
the Blues Magoos
the Sir Douglas Quintet
the Amboy Dukes (see young Ted Nugent?)
the Marmalade
the Creation
Finally, while this ain't a Nugget, it sure is fun and makes me kinda excited: January Jones
