Beware the Ides of March!

Today is the Ides of March, better known as the day that Julius Caesar was assassinated by a bunch of pissed-off senators who feared that he was planning on installing himself as king over the Romans. After his death, a bunch of other guys fought over control of Rome, including Caesar's nephew Octavian, who eventually assumed power under the name Augustus. Throw in some backstabbing politicking and romantic intrigues, and you have yourself a full-tilt Saturday afternoon matinee.

On a lighter note, the Ides of March was also a Chicago/Blood, Sweat, and Tears-esque band, best known for their frenquently-used, car commercial and sports center wrap-up friendly hit single Vehicle.

Wow. I had no idea the singer from Ides of March looked like that. Or anything at all, really. He looks like the guy who played Darth Vader, only not Darth-Vader-tall.
