Listen to the drone, part 3
"Shiny, shiny, shiny boots of leather, Whip-lash girlchild in the dark." The Velvet Underground had many songs that featured droning in the background. John Cale, the bassist and viola player for the first two studio albums, played only one or two notes through this song. This clip gives an indication of the droning intensity of their early shows, especially as they were coupled with Andy Warhol's Exploding Plastic Inevitable stage show. Do you feel the drone?
