It is rare that I pat myself on the back for my own brilliance. Indeed, I'm usually suprised at how dense I can be. However, while avoiding doing my work for school, I had the most amazingly intense fit of creative juicing since I was first inclined to start this stupid blog. What I have imagined is a new sci-fi adventure series that combines The Prisoner with V: The Miniseries. This idea has limitless possibilities, especially if set in Knoxville, using the Sunsphere as the new command post for the new Village, whatever that might end up being (we need a good session at the Bean to work out all the details). Here's the brilliant part: the show could be titled All Your Base Are Belong To Us! I'm anxious to hear from all you out there in the webosphere what you think. I think I'm onto something really special...

Quasi-academic response: This would highlight one of the major points of The Prisoner that I think was underdeveloped - not knowing for sure who among the villagers were also observers. It was touched on and had an episode or two devoted to it, but I still think it could have been stressed more to strengthen the paranoia.
Gut response: Hells yeah! No. 6 isn't taken to the village; the village conquers the earth! Allegory of Nazi takeover mixed with allegory cult of the individual. Very nice.
And then there's the chance at this great dialogue:
Schnipps: "The rocket is here."
6: "Here?"
Schnipps:"All around you."
6: "All around us?"
Both: "The Sunsphere itself is the rocket!"
6: "Ha!"
Grab a pad and pen and get to Philly. We have much to discuss.
And, by the way, you'd better jump on this quickly, if you learned anything from the Rambo 4 catastrophe.
