Summer is beginning...shall it be the "Summer of Mike?"
I have threatened, for several years, to make each summer the "Summer of Mike." This blanket term, appropriated from "Seinfeld," represents the idea that I was going to totally revision and recreate myself for the coming school year. But as most of those of you in the webosphere know, I tend to talk a good game when suggesting major changes in my outward appearance. I mean, look how long it took me to get my hair cut, or get my lazy eye fixed, or have those jailhouse tatoos removed. So, what tends to happen during the "Summer of Mike" is lots of speculation and proposals concerning the purchase of this particular outfit or that particular pair of shoes or those particular leopard print speedos. And yet, what typically happens is that I buy one item that becomes the cornerstone of that year's fashion change (remember the Joy Division t-shirt?).
This year's "Summer of Mike" finds our young hero on the quest for (1) a World's Fair T-shirt, (2) motorcycle boots, and (3) some new jeans. If I get really crazy, I may even buy some overalls and a seersucker suit. But, I'll probably be lucky to buy new socks...
Any opinions for my fashion revision of 2007 would be appreciated but most likely disregarded...

One word: Monocle.
I thought you already had motorcycle boots? What kind of jeans were you thinking of getting?
